History
WASH Alliance Kenya is mandated to stimulate linkages and strategic partnerships among state and non-state WASH actors in enhancing their response towards WASH needs of poor and vulnerable Kenyans. We harness the energy and expertise of communities, NGOs, the national government, local governments, international organizations and the private sector to sustainable WASH solutions. Together with our member organizations, we advocate for change and facilitate local solutions for the millions of people who lack access to sustainable WASH solutions.
Our main priority remains working with the government, communities, and development partners to improve and accelerate the livelihoods and health of the most vulnerable members in Kenya. To effectively scale up our work and accelerate access to WASH in Kenya, we continue replicating and learning from our previous programmes while making use of economies of scale.
Our History
Today, we work across Kenya with a diverse range of communities from urban informal settlements in Nairobi, remote rural areas in the central-North, to coastal region. We have increased access to water, sanitation and hygiene services to communities across the country.
We harness the energy and expertise of communities, NGOs, the national government, local governments, international organizations and the private sector to achieve sustainable WASH solutions.
We support institutions and form consortiums to accelerate access to WASH for all. We also work directly with Government agencies to strengthen national WASH programs and help ensure that Government policies promote equity and inclusion in WASH.
WASH Alliance Kenya envisions a world in which all people have sustainable access to WASH services while its mission is to promote an enabling environment for provision of innovative and sustainable WASH services to vulnerable groups through alliance members.
